Victoria Fields

High Point, NC (Davidson County)
What does she do? Victoria works as the Marina Operator for the City of High Point Parks and Recreation Department at Oak Hollow Lake. She is also am the Coordinator for the High Point Parks and Recreation Youth Education Program.
Favorite part of earning her certification? Victoria enjoyed visiting and learning about natural areas and parks systems across the state. "I have been inspired by teachers and students alike," says Victoria. "Their enthusiasm is contagious. It has renewed my love for the natural world and it has taught me that we all have a responsibility for its care and preservation."
Certification experience that stands out? Victoria's favorite outdoor experience was the Nocturnal Workshop held at Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center. She got quite a thrill being out in the wild at night, sighting, listening, tracking and even capturing a few photos of animals. "Being part of this magical and sometimes scary world was an experience that I will never forget," she says.
Her Action Partnership? She partnered with other groups to erect a Dog Waste Station at the City’s Oak Hollow Campground along with educational signs and cards about the importance of protecting the City’s Drinking Water. She hopes to expand the Dog Waste Stations to all park areas around the lake.
CONGRATULATIONS, VICTORIA!
